Bunton was operations and compliance director, as well as chairman of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries.
L&C Mortgages director Patrick Bunton (pictured) has resigned after nearly 25 years with the mortgage broker.
Bunton was operations and compliance director, having joined in 1993.
A notification was sent round the business that Bunton had resigned yesterday evening.
David Hollingworth, director of communications at L&C, said: “He’s been here for 25 years and played a massive role in building the business from what was a very small operation to a very large one.
“He’s decided to pursue other opportunities and everyone here wishes Pat all the very best."
Bunton is also leaving his role as chairman of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries.
Robert Sinclair, chief executive of AMI, said:“London & Country will replace him on the AMI board in due course.
“We are a firm membership organisation and therefore London & Country will choose a replacement and that individual will go through an election process in around 10 months’ time.”
Before joining L&C Bunton held branch management roles at Britannia Building Society, while he has also been chairman of Oldfield Rugby Club since 1994.
