Focus will be to support new and existing brokers with training and education on Shawbrook’s products and packaging requirements.
Vicky Pearce and Dean Linklater have joined Shawbrook’s residential mortgages team as business development managers and will be responsible for the South and North regions respectively.
Both bring a strong track record of working with intermediaries across a wide range of mortgage markets. The new starters will be liaising closely with Shawbrook networks and clubs across the lender’s second charge mortgage offering, as well as the first charge mortgage market that Shawbrook has recently entered.
Their core focus will be to support new and existing brokers with training and education on Shawbrook’s products and packaging requirements. Pearce joins with 15 years’ experience in the financial services sector, with roles at Santander as a residential underwriter before joining Aldermore, where she worked initially as a commercial underwriter before being promoted to commercial, residential and specialist buy-to-let BDM.
Pearce said: “Having a background across commercial, residential and buy-to-let mortgages gives me the best chance possible to help my brokers meet theirs and their customers’ needs.
“Shawbrook has such a positive reputation in the market when it comes to their service proposition and I really wanted to be a part of that. I’m looking forward to visiting all of the southern based brokers as I settle into this dynamic and welcoming team.”
Linklater also brings a wealth of experience to the table for Shawbrook intermediaries, in a career spanning nearly 20 years so far. Having started out at Santander during its days as Abbey National, his most recent roles include regional sales manager for Magellan Homeloans and as a BDM for Bridgebank Capital and GE Money.
Linklater adds: “I’m looking to build on the expert and progressive service that Shawbrook is renowned for, but I also hope to bring fresh ideas on how we as a lender can work with the new distribution route of mortgage ARs and DAs.
“Giving brokers and customers more choice, whilst promoting practices that encourage a seamless experience is key to this. The goal for me is to help Shawbrook be recognised as the go-to lender for both complex specialist first charge and second charge lending for all intermediaries.”
Maeve Ward, managing director of Shawbrook Residential Mortgages, said: “It’s fantastic to have two talented and highly experienced BDMs join our Field Sales team, reporting into Claire Rankin, head of network and club distribution.
“Vicky and Dean were the outstanding candidates for their respective regions; as well as being a natural fit for the Shawbrook culture, they both have intelligent ideas about how we can improve the overall experience for our brokers and new network distribution channels.
“I’m excited to see them put these ideas into practice as we expand our offering, whilst maintaining the people-focused approach to good sense lending that has been a catalyst for our growth so far.”
