The buy-to-let guide includes information on legal obligations, taxation, funding and managing a rental property.
Henry Jordan, managing director at TMW, said: “It is important that our customers understand and meet their obligations as landlords and it makes sense to share our expertise to enable them to do so more easily.
“The private rental sector has experienced significant growth over the last few years so it is particularly important that potential landlords, considering buy to let for the first time, fully understand what’s involved and are realistic about expected returns.”
David Hollingworth, head of communications at London & Country Mortgages, added: “Buy-to-let continues to attract plenty of interest from prospective investors seeking a good return on their money over the longer term.
“However it’s important that new landlords make a considered and informed decision before buying their first property.
“Therefore balanced information about what to expect and what to look out for in addition to the benefits of buy to let should be a useful resource for aspiring landlords.”
The launch follows last week’s report on the sector from the Communities & Local Government Select Committee, which highlighted the need for clear information for landlords.
