Horner will take responsibility for the bank’s efforts to support small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region.
Commercial mortgage lender Allica Bank has appointed Michael Horner as business relationship manager for the North East.
Horner will take responsibility for the bank’s efforts to support small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region, and will lead its efforts to reach out to the introducer community in the region.
Horner joins Allica Bank from Shawbrook, where he was relationship director for three years.
Previously, he worked as business development manager and local business manager for Bibby Financial Services and Santander, respectively.
Mark Stephens, CEO of Allica Bank, said: “We are delighted to welcome Michael to the Allica Bank team.
“Tailored, local expertise sits at the heart of Allica Bank’s proposition to customers, and Michael’s proven track record of supporting small and medium sized businesses in the North East will mean we can provide just that.
“Our goal is to build close relationships with our customers and introducers, and collaborate to find the best way we can help them succeed.
“Michael’s appointment will be invaluable in helping us realise our vision in the North East.”
Horner said: “I am really excited to be joining the Allica Bank team.
“It is clear everyone here shares a real passion for seeing small and medium sized businesses grow and succeed, which is something I am proud to be a part of.
“In particular, I’m impressed with Allica Bank’s use of technology to provide a streamlined and intuitive experience for customers and brokers, paired with real, human relationships.
“For Allica Bank, technology is there to support the bank’s experts, not replace them.
“This is going to be crucial for us if we are to truly change the business banking landscape. I can’t wait to get started.”
