New hire set to support broker growth across key regions

Specialist lender Shawbrook has announced the appointment of Becky Davies (pictured) as its new business development manager, tasked with maintaining broker relationships and expanding the lender’s presence in the Southwest and Wales.
Davies brings more than 12 years of industry experience to the role. Her background includes working as a mortgage broker and, more recently, serving as a business development manager at the Bank of Ireland.
Her career to date, the lender said, has given Davies a strong grasp of the broker market and the lending challenges faced by intermediaries. Her appointment as BDM for the Southwest and Wales also aligns with Shawbrook’s strategy to grow its intermediary network and provide tailored lending solutions, particularly in more complex cases.
The announcement follows the recent introduction of Shawbrook’s Product Transfers solution, which aims to streamline fixed rate renewals for existing customers by enabling buy-to-let and commercial mortgage clients to switch to a new fixed rate without further underwriting, as long as there are no changes to the loan amount or term.
“I wanted to join Shawbrook because their ability to assist with more complex and ‘outside of the box’ lending really appealed to me,” Davies said on her appointment. “Alongside that, the friendly and supportive working environment made it an easy decision.
“My role will focus on maintaining strong relationships with our existing panel of brokers in the Southwest and Wales, while also looking to grow that panel further. Having been a broker myself, I know how important it is for brokers to feel valued and supported, and I’m excited to bring that mindset to Shawbrook.”
