He has around 30 years of experience in financial lending
Mortgage and protection brokerage Access Financial Services (Access FS) has appointed Adrian Brewer (pictured) as its new head of later life lending, a role created to support the firm’s focus on the growing market of borrowers aged 55 and over.
Brewer brings nearly 30 years of experience in financial lending, including 20 years at Beech Finance and a recent position as a branch manager at Mortgage Advice Bureau Later Life.
The brokerage said the appointment reflects its strategy to develop a specialised later life division within its mortgage and protection advisory business. Brewer’s main priorities will include expanding the firm’s later life offerings, increasing awareness among advisers about later life lending, and driving new business in this segment.
“It’s great to be back in the intermediary marketplace and leading the later life business at Access FS,” Brewer said. “I am passionate about later life lending and look forward to sharing my knowledge with the team. A large part of my role will focus on adviser education.”
Karl Wilkinson, founder and chief executive of Access Financial Services, welcomed Brewer’s addition to the team.
“Adrian is a great asset to the business,” Wilkinson said. “He will help develop our later life proposition, streamline processes, and reinforce our commitment to holistic advice across the group.”
Brewer’s appointment follows the hiring of Nicholas Jones as mortgage sales and marketing director, another newly created role aimed at strengthening the company’s offerings. Despite challenging market conditions, Access FS has reported continued growth, with a 46% increase in turnover in 2024.
