AIR Group, the collective of companies covering a range of retirement and later life services, will host its second annual National Later Life Adviser Conference, in association with the Equity Release Council.
It will take place at the Madejski Stadium, Reading on the 25June,targeted at advisers working in the later life market looking to broaden their knowledge. The key note speaker is former WBC Heavyweight boxing world champion, Frank Bruno.
Stuart Wilson, group chief executive at Answers in Retirement, said: “2019 sees the return of the biggest conference dedicated to advisers dealing with older consumers and we have a knock-out day planned, capped by our key note speaker, Frank Bruno.
“We were delighted with the launch event last year and now plan on this becoming a regular event in the advisory calendar.
“This year we have raised the bar further in terms of the speakers taking part and providers who will be exhibiting, and with a series of main platform guests, panel discussions and breakout sessions as well as the opportunity to meet all our exhibitors, there really is something for everybody.
“We have also increased ticket availability this year and expect another sell-out event. This year is all about the challenges that exist in the later life space and we have chosen speakers who will delve into the challenges our customers face, and we as advisers have to confront.
“Regulation, capacity, technology, demographics are just a few obstacles to be faced but we plan to provide all attendees with plenty of information, resource and support to tackle them and to ensure they have all the tools necessary to grow their later life advice business.”
This year’s conference is on the theme of ‘Combating Challenges in Later Life Lending, Living and Advising’ with a host of experts and speakers.
Sponsored by provider, more 2 life, Frank will be discussing his sporting life and looking at the challenges of planning for a future when you have mental health issues.
Other speakers confirmed for the conference include: Lynda Blackwell, ex-FCA, looking at the regulatory challenges facing advisers in the later life market.
Tim Farmer, founder of TSF Mental capacity assessors, author of ‘Grandpa on a skateboard’ and registered mental health nurse of 20 years, will outline the challenges to the consumer in terms of mental capacity.
And Keir Hall, motivational speaker from Yellow Door, will show attendees how to advise with confidence.
