The Later Life Academy has made Legal & General a ‘corporate ambassador’ to develop and shape its equity release training.

L&G will have an input into developing the LLA’s proposition including future content.

Stuart Wilson, managing partner at the Later Life Academy, said: “The addition of a ‘big hitter’ such as Legal &General is a huge coup for us.

“To have such an established and respected product provider in place means we can continue to develop the proposition in both the training and resources we offer to members, but also the commercial opportunities that exist in the later life space.

“We’re already working closely with the team at Legal & General in terms of its equity release expertise, but its input will also cover other aspects of retirement.”

He added: “The focus for the academy remains on raising standards within later life advice, recognising the growth that is required from both an individual adviser and firm level, and ensuring we can also deliver real commercial incentives.

“There has perhaps never been a more important time to be involved in the later life advice area, and the need for a wide-reaching advice proposition covering off as many different product sectors is vital.

“At the academy we support members across all these many disciplines and, with the anticipated growth in demand, our members will be putting themselves in the best position possible to secure this business.”

The Later Life Academy launched in 2014, offering later life advisers training and sales support across equity release, long-term care and annuities.
