Mortgage Business Expo, which will be held at the Barbican on 13 October, will include an equity release pavilion for lenders and retirement planners to meet brokers and discuss the opportunities of this form of finance which has grown significantly in recent years.
With £934m being released in the first half of 2016, equity release could smash through the £2bn barrier for the first time. There are many over 55s who are struggling to pay off their mortgage or want a more comfortable retirement and the option of releasing some equity from their home via a lifetime mortgage is a viable option.
The CPD accredited seminar programme will also have several speakers presenting on the equity release market and the ways in which brokers and IFAs can benefit from including equity release in their offering to clients.
Andrea Rozario, chief corporate officer of Bower Retirement Services and Nigel Waterson, chairman of the Equity Release Council will provide insights and analysis of the sector and key points for developing equity release as an option for finance advisers.
