Standard Life offers online clinics for later life lending advisers

Standard Life Home Finance has announced the launch of a series of online clinics aimed at advisers in the later life lending market.

The clinics, starting tomorrow, October 16, will run weekly and cover various aspects of later life lending, including product overviews, lead generation, underwriting, conveyancing, and the use of technology.

Each session will be hosted by members of Standard Life Home Finance’s team, along with guest speakers, offering insights into how advisers can enhance their services in the growing market. The clinics will provide detailed information on securing leads and referrals, understanding the underwriting process, and using online tools to support client advice.

The first clinic on October 16, led by head of sales Sanjay Gadhia (pictured), will focus on how advisers can enhance their service offerings with Standard Life Home Finance. The second session, on October 23, will cover strategies to attract more clients in the later life lending space, co-hosted by Gadhia and marketing expert Phil Calvert. On the November 7 clinic, business development manager (BDM) Isaac Allen and underwriter Patrick Leese will provide insights from an underwriting perspective to help advisers improve their advice strategies.

The series will continue on November 14 with a fourth session hosted by BDM Philip Beswick, team leader Helen Hacking, and representatives from Enact services, focusing on case management and conveyancing support. The final session on November 21 will demonstrate online tools available to advisers, also hosted by Allen.

Advisers can attend all sessions or select individual clinics, with registration available online.

“We’re acutely aware of the growing interest in the later life lending market from an adviser community who are increasingly seeing older borrowers with a variety of lending needs, and who want to ensure they are covering off all product options available to them in order to deliver positive outcomes,” Gadhia said.

“At the same time, we know that the later life lending market moves fast, and even those specialist advisers immersed in the sector, are often looking for a refresher into what is currently available, and detailed information on how they might grow their propositions, particularly in areas like lead generation, marketing and utilising the enhanced technology tools that are available.

“Our clinic sessions, taking place through October and November, are designed to provide detailed analysis, information and showcase benefits to advisers already active, those who want to do more, and those who want to make their mark in the sector.”
