The Financial Conduct Authority is hosting a series of adviser events across the UK.
The programme, called ‘Live & Local’, will take place in 12 regions and will include a series of events, workshops and roundtables.
It will cater for mortgage, investment and general insurance advisers and is designed to let them engage with the regulator.
Jonathan Davidson, director of supervision retail and authorisations at the FCA, said: “We know how much firms value face-to-face contact with the FCA - the success of our positive compliance workshops showed that.
“So Live & Local builds on that and takes the FCA out on the road to meet firms on their own ground. The programme gives us the opportunity to hear from firms at first hand and gives them the chance to raise any questions or concerns directly with us.”
The programme will start from 1 March 2016 and run until March 2017 with a four week period in each region.
In the first week the FCA will run ‘positive compliance' sessions for firms focusing on the advice process. The general insurance sector will have its own sessions called ‘culture and governance: GI focus’. The FCA will welcome a maximum of 140 delegates.
In the second week the FCA will run a ‘surgery programme’, where firms discuss concerns relevant to their own business models during a 45 minutes meeting.
In the third week the FCA will host a ‘round table event’ for around 25 firms, with a panel comprised of senior FCA and industry representatives.
In the fourth week the FCA will host a chairman’s lunch with around 15 firms where John Griffith-Jones, FCA’s chairman will invite firms to talk about what is happening in their region, and concerns and share his own perspective.
