Croll has 15 years’ experience in the second charge market, having worked at Step One Finance as a national broker account manager and Loans Warehouse as a broker relationship manager.
HSBC has hired Richard Croll as a field-based business development manager covering Surrey.
Croll has 15 years’ experience in the second charge market, having worked at Step One Finance as a national broker account manager and Loans Warehouse as a broker relationship manager.
Before the credit crunch he was at Lehman Brothers and GE Capital as a second charge underwriter, after which he decided to apply that underwriting knowledge to field sales. He has also worked as a self-employed broker.
Croll said: “I’m sad to be leaving, but the opportunity to work for a high street brand like HSBC with a global presence was too good to turn down.
“I’m joining a growing team where I will be tasked with meeting mortgage and IFA firms and sharing the product range.”
The BDM team is headed up by Richard Beardshaw, head of sales, mortgage intermediaries, at HSBC retail banking and wealth management.
Croll added: “My background is in second charges and with them coming under the same banner as first charges eventually they will merge into one market.”
