He indecently assaulted children in Chertsey and Camberley.
Kevin Friend has been jailed for nine years after assaulting two children and sexually assaulting another woman.
Friend, pictured, had a scattered career in the mortgage industry but always maintained a good reputation.
He cut his teeth in the financial services industry at The Mortgage Operation, which he helped set up with Frank Butler and The Mortgage Lender’s Trevor Pothecary in 1993.
In 1999 he helped set up emfinance.com as the UK’s first online brokerage. He joined since closed down packager Opus in 2004 before moving on to Money Partners and later Mortgages.co.uk and mortgage technology firm Evaluate – owned by ex-SJP adviser Peter Carron (who would later be fined £300k by the FCA for misleading clients).
He latterly worked for a claims management firm Missoldmortgageclaims.co.uk which was a trading style of Gladstone Brookes, which is regulated by the Ministry of Justice.
Friend was sentenced for the historic sex offences, that occurred in Chertsey, Camberley and Evesham, when he appeared at Guildford Crown Court on Friday 23 August, Surrey Live reported.
The 60-year-old, of Weston Road, Evesham, Worcestershire, was convicted of indecent assault against two separate girls, one who was 14 and one who was 10, and one count of sexual assault against a 22-year-old woman.
He was found not guilty of a further seven counts of indecent assault.
In a victim impact statement, one of the victims said she hoped his conviction would help her move on with her life.
She said: "This stopped me moving forwards and I have lived in limbo until now.
"I'm just hoping that after this case is finished I can actually finally put this to bed. I've just moved on now I am the age that I am and I've learnt to live with what happened."
The indecent assaults on children were committed in Chertsey and Camberley while the sexual assault of the woman was committed in Evesham, Worcestershire.
Investigating officer for Surrey Police, Detective Constable Sharron Goodchild, said: "I would like to praise the victims for having the courage to speak out and ensure Friend was brought to justice for these heinous crimes.
"We would not be where we are today without the resilience and bravery of the victims during our investigation.
"I hope that Friend being found guilty, as well as the sentence imposed today, will allow them to put this behind them and finally move on with their lives.
"I also hope that this will encourage others in a similar position to come forward and report it to us – we will always carry out a full investigation, no matter how long ago the offences were committed."
