Leeds Building Society has appointed Iain Cornish and Annette Barnes as non-executive directors.
Both have joined the society board, alongside five executive directors and seven non-executive directors, including chairman Robin Ashton.
Ashton said: “These are excellent appointments. Both Iain and Annette have proven track records of success in senior leadership roles and bring with them more than 60 years’ of collective experience within the financial services sector.
“Their addition to theboard will further build on our diverse range of skills, knowledge and experience. They will help us to continue to build on strong recent performance and contribute to our positive future.”
Cornish (pictured left) has more than 30 years’ experience of working within the financial services industry as chief executive of Yorkshire Building Society, chairman of St James’s Place and senior independent director of Arrow Global, andhe also has risk expertise.
He has served as a Treasury Select Committee special advisor, an independent reviewer for the Prudential Regulation Authority, as well as holding positions with the Financial Services Authority and the Building Societies Association.
Barnes (pictured right) brings with her more than 30 years’ experience working in financial services, with specific skills in operations, technology and customer experience. Her most recent r(picturedoles include chief executive of Lloyds Bank Private Banking and managing director for Wealth & Mass Affluent for Lloyds Banking Group.
Her experience also includes time spent as an executive director of MBNA Europe Bank and a non-executive director of GlobalData plc.
