Crossley is replacing Mark Holweger, who transferred to the US arm of the insurance division, Legal & General Insurance America, as chief executive in September 2018.
At BGL her responsibilities included the strategy and value creation of 14 affinity partner brands, including 02, RAC, M&S and Lloyds Banking Group.
She also oversaw business development for motor, home and life insurance under the Junction and Beagle Street brands.
Before this, she held a number of senior positions in Saga, Prudential, Barclays and Gillette.
