The countrywide lockdown due to COVID-19 might be a prime opportunity for homeowners to prepare their houses for a speedy sale once the market picks back up, according to professional body NAEA Propertymark.
The organisation’s tips for home improvements included refreshing the property with any paint going spare, or which can be safely delivered, decluttering the space, gardening, washing the windows, deep-cleaning the kitchen and reducing personalisation of the space.
Mark Hayward, chief executive at NAEA Propertymark, said: “While being unable to list your house at the moment may be frustrating, the extra time you’re spending at home makes now a great time to take some simple steps and get your property into its most valuable condition for when the market picks back up.”
