Principality Building Society has launched an online case tracking service allowing intermediaries to monitor the progress of mortgage applications.
The service, called Brokerpoint, splits the application into five stages: submitted, underwriting, offered, awaiting completion and complete, informing brokers exactly where the application is.
Once brokers login to the online tool, they can either choose to view their Principality portfolio of cases or enter the customer’s surname and mortgage enquiry number to pull up detailed updates on specific cases.
Shaun Middleton, head of regulatory sales at Principality, said: “Launching broker case tracking is part of our ongoing plan for service excellence, to streamline and improve our service for brokers.
“The new service will be available to brokers at any time of day allowing them to get updates simply and quickly.
“We hope the tool will save brokers time and keep them better informed at every stage of the process.”
In the past 18 months Principality, which is Wales’ largest building society, has added more underwriters and further resource to its intermediary support desk.
It plans to hire more business development managers to engage more brokers face-to-face.
Philip Williams, director of Eastside Insurance FS, said: “It’s great to see that Principality have listened to our feedback and developed a case tracking system.
“My clients always want to know the valuation figure and this system enables me to provide them with this information outside working hours making it even easier to work with Principality.”
