Smith recently retired from Legal and General, where he held numerous roles including heading up the L&G Mortgage Club and has worked in the mortgage market for some 40 years.

Twenty7Tec has also hired Stuart Kirby as financial controller and head of operations.
Kirby joins from One Savings Bank, where he was head of accounts for InterBay Commercial, Prestige Finance and Heritable Finance.
