The Mortgage Lender has appointed David Venn as business development manager for London and the Southern Home Counties, making its commercial team 20-strong.
He joins from Just Group, the annuity and equity release specialist, where he was business development manager for six years, a move that followed nine years as a bank manager for Lloyds.
The Mortgage Lender has also introduced The Hub – pairing road-based sales with desk-based support to provide more consistent and personal service to brokers.
Venn said: “I’ve got a passion for property and for helping people. The Mortgage Lender has a desire to be a big player in the market and has a bright and eye-catching brand that is getting the attention of brokers who are intrigued about what we do.
“The decision to become part of the team and its journey was an easy one for me.”
Keith Street, The Mortgage Lender chief commercial officer, said: “David finalises the expansion of our commercial team, for this year.
“We’ve now got the right people and structure in place to support our broker partners, build those deep and productive relationships and help more people buy their homes.”
Venn’s appointment completes the expansion of the commercial team. This year, five new business development managers have been appointed, along with two national account managers and the telesales team has grown from three to nine. He’s paired-up with Glasgow-based Rob Dalziel.
The marketing team has also expanded from one to three with the appointment of Fraser MacDougall as head of marketing and product and Fraser Brown as marketing and product executive.
