Vernon Building Society has signed up two apprentices full-time and welcomed a new trainee.
The society has hired 18-year-olds Melissa Fyfe and James Corrigan as a business administrator and finance officer, as well as 16-year-old Libby Maugha on a 12-month apprenticeship.
Rosie Grant, operations manager at the Vernon, said: “The apprenticeship scheme is something we are particularly proud to be involved with as it gives young people from the Stockport area an opportunity to gain skills and experience in a real working environment.
“We treat our apprentices as though they are permanent members of the team right from the start and ensure they get access to a whole range of different jobs and departments during their year with us.
“Offering Melissa and James full time roles at the end of their 12 months indicates how well they have done and how much the Society has benefited from their enthusiasm and hard work.”
