The service will cover the cost of legal work for remortgage applications
Specialist mortgage lender Pepper Money has announced the launch of its improved free legals service which will cover the cost of legal work required on remortgage applications. This also includes those that were for debt consolidation.
“At Pepper Money, we’re here to help fulfil the ambitions of a wide variety of people with a diverse range of needs,” said Paul Adams, sales director at Pepper Money (pictured). “Sometimes, this means lending a hand beyond the moment a mortgage application is approved and we are doing this through our enhanced Free Legals service.”
The addition of debt consolidation in the free legals service
The free legal service now includes debt consolidation regardless of the number of debts that need to be repaid. The proposition is also supported by the distribution of a new broker and consumer facing guide.
“We have responded to feedback from customers and brokers to develop the proposition with the inclusion of remortgages for debt consolidation and a new system of monitoring our third-party partners to ensure the consistent delivery of an excellent service,” said Adams. “For customers who have a less than perfect credit history, this means that we don’t just offer certainty of decision, but we also provide certainty for completing the process.”
The free legal service is managed by Optimus, a panel management firm that provided introducers with access to a panel of pre-approved and regulated partners.

The improvements to the service aim to provide safety for both brokers and their customers. Pepper Money give customers the option to choose between free legals or a £350 cash back for all residential and DMP products.
