Deal streamlines payment process for mortgage and protection brokers
Mortgage and protection platform Acre has forged a partnership with bank payment company GoCardless, to enhance the efficiency of collecting service fees from clients in a more seamless and cost-effective manner.
Designed to streamline the mortgage and protection process, Acre consolidates easy case management features and intelligent dashboards in one place, minimising administrative tasks and allowing brokers to allocate more time to business growth.
Previously, brokers were required to manually determine the owed amount in Acre, collect fees off-platform, and subsequently reconcile payments back on the Acre platform. By seamlessly incorporating direct debit for recurring payments and GoCardless’ instant bank pay — an open banking payment feature for one-off payments — directly into the Acre platform, this three-step procedure is condensed into a single step.

The GoCardless integration not only accelerates the payment process, it also eliminates the reliance on costly card payments, creating a smoother payment experience for customers.
“By partnering with GoCardless, we are making it easier, safer, and more reliable than ever for brokers to take payment for their services,” stated Justus Brown (pictured left), chief executive at Acre. “More often than not, we see brokers relying on outdated, manual processes to collect fees, receiving emails with credit card numbers that get typed into clunky card terminals in a physical office.
“From today, brokers can instantly send clients an online payment link or set up direct debits via our customer portal, making the whole process frictionless, more secure, and easier for all involved.”
Pat Phelan (pictured right), managing director of UK and Ireland and chief customer officer at GoCardless said: “Brokers today have enough on their plate; they don’t have time to deal with hours of manual admin or late payments. That’s why we’re excited to offer bank payments with Acre, helping brokers save time and money, stress less and get paid on time.”
