Highlights include the degree of deafness being reduced and the maximum age for children's cover being extended to include the 22nd birthday.

"These adjustments will have minimal impact on comprehensiveness but adds clarity and is another step on the road to consolidating conditions that exhibit substantial overlap with other conditions.
"It has been almost four years since Aegon last applied adjustments to its critical illness plan and during this period its competitors have executed regular upgrades which has pushed Aegon down the league tables in terms of comprehensive cover.
"These adjustments – a mix of improvements, consolidations and condition removals – have limited impact to the quality index but are nonetheless welcome as it removes extraneous conditions which simplifies matters."
