In a similar vein to the already operational ‘Key Accounts’ division, the Associate Accounts will consist in the first instance of ten mortgage brokers who will be invited to establish a commercial arrangement with AfI, from which they will benefit from a dedicated management and a closer working relationship with the lender.
Adrian Whittaker, key accounts director at Abbey for Intermediaries said: “The goal of establishing this new division is to strengthen our ties with the broker community and offer more commercial opportunities to those intermediaries who are not associated with a key account and yet have a strong and ongoing relationship with us.
"This is about expanding our level of involvement in the industry and in those brokers who have a mutual interest in working more closely with us. In developing this proposition we hope to engage more closely with companies to ensure we are doing all we can to support their business strategy.”
To support the new Associate Accounts, AfI has appointed Claire Chick to the role of national key account manager. With over 15 years of experience in the intermediary sector Claire had been working with Abbey for Intermediaries as a sales manager for the south of England prior to her appointment.
Claire Chick, national key accounts manager, Abbey for Intermediaries, said: “To be part of the development and management of this new panel is a fantastic opportunity. The Associate Accounts represents an important part of our ongoing commitment to have a closer working relationship with the intermediary community and I am sure the market as a whole will benefit from this.”
