AIFA was recognised for its work to reduce the regulatory fee burden on members, praised for its work on behalf of members to ensure the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) benefits the IFA profession, and for its thought-leadership in producing the recent white paper entitled: "Financial Planning Through Retirement". The judges commented that AIFA's submission was clear, the evidence of success was obvious, and that the trade body had a clear track record of delivering "wins" for its members - all the more necessary given difficult market conditions.
The Rt Hon. John Gummer MP, Independent Chairman of AIFA, said: "We are delighted to have our work recognised in this way. I am grateful for the extraordinary hard work of the executive team who go into battle for our members on a daily basis.
"Reducing the fee burden on intermediaries by £11.7 million, campaigning for a positive outcome in the RDR, and producing such an insightful report on the future of retirement planning are just three of the major successes for AIFA in the last few months. But these would not have been achieved without the action and support of our council and boards. We really are only as strong as our members want us to be and we need their continued support to ensure the voice of the IFA profession is heard loud and clear.
"Of course, for this award to be won in our 10th anniversary year also adds an extra dimension and makes it an even more special tribute."
