He took up his role at the end of December and was formerly Director for Retail Compliance with Royal Bank of Scotland from 2001 to 2005. Prior to RBS, Mr Brener held the position of Director for Retail Compliance at NatWest Bank from 1996 to 2001, and has worked in financial services regulation for the past fifteen years.
Mr Brener reports to Ian Jenkins, Abbey’s Chief Risk Officer.
