Former technical director will rejoin the business
Mortgage brokerage Alexander Hall has announced the appointment of Richard Merrett (pictured) as its next managing director.
Merrett, who is currently the director of strategic relationships at SimplyBiz Mortgages, will rejoin the mortgage broker owned by Foxtons Group on January 2, 2024.
He is also a current board member for the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries and chairs the steering committee for the Mortgage Climate Action Group.
Merrett began his career at Alexander Hall in 2003 and was with the business for over 14 years, most recently as technical director. He then spent almost two years as managing director of largemortgageloans.com before moving to SimplyBiz.
He was part of the mortgages senior management and Fintel group performance leadership teams at SimplyBiz and was responsible for helping shape and create the future direction of the mortgage club.
Commenting on his appointment, Merrett said he was delighted to be rejoining Alexander Hall and thrilled to be given the opportunity to lead the business once again.
“I spent the first 14 years of my mortgage career here, so it very much feels like I am coming home,” he remarked. “Helping people to own a home is a great privilege and the value of advice has never been more important, I look forward to us collectively assisting many more mortgage borrowers with excellent customer service.”
