David Copland and Martin Reynolds have been appointed deputy chairmen.
AMI has elected two deputy chairmen in David Copland and Martin Reynolds after Legal & General’s Stephen Smith stood down.
Smith (pictured), who is director of housing partnerships at Legal & General, decided to call it a day after being on the board since AMI’s inception in 2003.
Copland is director of mortgage services at LSL Property Services while Martin Reynolds is chief executive of SimplyBiz Mortgages.
Robert Sinclair, chief executive of AMI said: “These changes equip AMI for the challenges that lie ahead in dealing with the Mortgage Competition Review, FSCS funding changes and the advent of the senior managers regime.
“The association is committed to working with firms to act in their best interests.”
AMI’s president Lord Deben, the Conservative John Selwyn Gummer, has also decided to step down from the board.
However the trade body’s chairman of three years Patrick Bunton, who is director of London & Country Mortgages, has agreed to stay on for a further 12 months.
AMI has also announced plans to introduce a new membership class for mortgage clubs being elected on the board. Elections for the position will be held shortly.
The association’s board elections will take place later in the month, with the results being announced on 12 December.
