AMI said it saw this as an early opportunity to influence the new Treasury team. Director-general of AMI, Chris Cummings, briefed the Economic Secretary on the main issues affecting the mortgage industry and the important role of mortgage brokers.
Cummings said: "It’s encouraging that the new Economic Secretary made the time to meet with the AMI team. Members have a trade body that is heard by Government and we were keen to meet with Kitty Ussher as soon as she was in post.
“Key areas of discussion were the scale and value of advice, long-term fixed rate mortgages and the regulatory agenda.”
