Two thousand mortgage intermediaries have now recognised that a trade body speaking on their behalf, and solely representing their views, is something they cannot afford not to be part of as regulation of the industry draws ever closer.
Intermediaries are now thinking more seriously about regulation - and the impact it will have on their business. The need for timely, accurate, impartial information has never been greater - AMI provides this information. Even more importantly, as a representative trade body, we lobby the FSA to ensure regulation is delivered with light touch and proportionality - without AMI, intermediaries would have no-one fighting their corner.
Whilst we are delighted to have passed another significant membership milestone, this is simply the start. Our main focus of attention is representing our members views to the FSA, Treasury and policymakers here and in Europe."
AMI membership is increasing at a rate of around 150 new members are joining per week.
