The Edinburgh-based recruit has more than three decades of property finance experience
Specialist lender Atelier has appointed Bruce Robertson (pictured) as its first dedicated lending manager in Scotland, in a move to further increase lending across the UK.
Robertson, who has more than three decades of property finance experience, has held senior roles at the Bank of Scotland and within Lloyds Banking Group. He has overseen more than £350 million of lending to property developers and investors in Scotland and northern England.
In his new role at Atelier, he is tasked with delivering loans to Scottish developers building in the residential, student, and care sectors. He will support Atelier’s chief originations officer, Martin Gilsenan, and will work with professional property developers and finance intermediaries across Scotland.
“Bruce joins us with an outstanding track record in development finance and an unmatched knowledge of Scotland’s most promising markets,” Gilsenan remarked. “Scotland is a market full of opportunity, where local knowledge and expertise are critical to deliver well-structured and competitive financial solutions that support both developers and intermediaries.”
Commenting on his appointment, Robertson said he was delighted to be joining Atelier’s experienced, professional team to grow its lending to property developers in Scotland.
“Atelier’s combination of market-leading interest rates and technology, and swift, certain deal execution has made it a lender of choice for the small and medium-sized developers who now build more than half of the new homes completed in Britain each year,” he said.
“The development market in Scotland is proving remarkably resilient and inventive, and I’m looking forward to working with intermediaries and property professionals to deliver Atelier finance and help get more homes built.”
