Changes should help advisers see them as value for money, according to expert
Royal London has made another round of improvements to its critical illness cover.
Royal London has announced two new 100% paying conditions, five 100% condition enhancements, three new additional payment conditions, three enhancements to existing additional payment conditions and one alteration to a child specific condition.
The insurer also clarified that the self-inflicted injury exclusion does not apply to the death of a child.
“As is generally the case, these improvements serve to enhance the overall plan value making claims more likely,” Alan Lakey, director at critical illness comparison platform CIExpert, said.
Royal London had already made a number of upgrades to its critical illness cover in July 2021
“Many advisers consider Royal London the choice for quality child cover but are less enthused about its adult coverage. These latest changes to enhance the adult cover will assist in establishing them as providing a quality plan for both adults and children,” Lakey said.
