Barclays signs 3-year deal with Premier League

The current partnership which expires at the end of the 2012/13 season has seen Barclays pay £27.5m a year.

The deal includes exclusive worldwide marketing rights, global TV programme accreditation, extensive advertising rights, match day tickets and hospitality, as well as joint community activity.

Barclays and the Premier League will continue the Barclays Asia Trophy tournament as well as the Barclays Premier League Trophy Tour that will next visit Africa and the US.

The Barclays Premier League is broadcast for over 185,000 hours each season, reaching 212 territories and over 650 million homes with a cumulative global audience of 4.7 billion people.

Barclays was fined $435m last week by US and UK regulators for rigging its LIBOR submissions.

Next season, the 21st since the league was founded in 1992, kicks off on Saturday, 18 August.
