This franchise gives the Hampshire-based packager further coverage in the North in addition to BDS Scotland which has been in existence for over 12 months. The Durham-based branch will operate as an extension of the packager, mirroring its extensive proposition including lender panel and product selection. It will also offer more local support for the BDS network members based in the North East.
The Durham-based company selected was considered to be a quality business producer who has ambitious growth plans and is posed to employ around six mortgage advisers in and around the area. They will feed their cases into the BDS head office for in-house lender underwriter support from the 11 lenders currently offering this resource and take advantage of the speedy production of the mortgage offers this service provides.
This arrangement was led by Bob Hope, head of sales and network and follows lengthy negotiations and due diligence procedures. He commented: “BDS Durham has given us the opportunity to extend our business into new areas, expand our sales team and boost our whole business proposition. The team have worked hard to achieve business synergy and cases are already hitting the pipeline – proving that the demand is still there and we have the products and capability to make it a success.”
