The Competent Adviser software utilises a comprehensive database of syllabus-based learning material and related question banks, an extensive range of regulatory material as well as a company’s own range of internal training materials and procedure documents. By using this system, BDS is able to offer individual online assessment, highly targeted training and full regulatory audit trails at a significantly lower cost than traditional methods, helping to reduce the burden of the new regulation for all of our partners.
BDS were one of the first Networks to receive their ‘Minded to Approve’ letter and are planning to be a Principal for around 25 Appointed Representatives. They recently announced the initial list of lenders who have committed to their direct panel and are also offering a Direct Club for any intermediaries who are seeking direct authorisation from the FSA. Intermediaries can sign up to receive a chosen service level encompassing various compliance and technology options such as training and competence software.
Bruce Collins, Group Head of Compliance comments: “We are committed to investing in our Network for the long term benefits of the appointed representatives who chose to use our services. This system enables us to ensure that our AR’s remain fully compliant with FSA requirements without the need for an excessive number of training days or site visits. This means that everyone can get on with the job in hand – writing business.”
Competent Adviser Managing Director Chris Heard says: “Our T&C solution and complementary training services are designed to help firms meet the new training and competency requirements with minimum fuss and at a manageable cost. We are pleased to have been chosen by BDS and look forward to working closely with them and their partners in the build up to full FSA regulation.”
