"The payment protection insurance (PPI) market has seen some difficult trading conditions over recent years, although the need for the cover the insurance offers has never been higher.
At the moment the challenge is to up selling standards, product design and value for money right across the market and it seems that although slowly, we are at least moving in the right direction.
Britishinsurance.com has worked incredibly hard to come up with a proposition, which means that customers can get the cover they need, at a price they can afford. We have also worked hard to make sure that the insurance customers buy provides for them as they expect when they come to make a claim.
Elsewhere in the market the focus too often seems to be on volume and profit at the expense of high standards and consumer protection. As such, Britishinsurance.com is absolutely delighted its efforts have been recognised by the Mortgage Introducer Awards and receiving the accolade of Best Insurance Broker for 2007 is something we are very proud of.
Certainly it provides us with renewed energy to strive for excellence in the future and is a clear sign that independent providers have an important role to play in the PPI sector.
It has been difficult for independent players to challenge the high street providers in this market, but increasingly we are establishing a foothold and industry recognition, such as this award, will help cement that position.
The PPI market is going through a period of flux at the moment and the challenge for everyone is to push these changes through and create an environment, which is focused on the consumer’s best interests. Certainly this is the direction in which Britishinsurance.com will continue to pull as it seeks to build and develop its business into the future."
