James Cotton, mortgage specialist at London & Country, commented: "We are delighted to have won Mortgage Introducer's Best National Mortgage Broker award for the third year running. It is especially rewarding seeing as the awards are voted for by lenders within the industry.
It has been a challenging second half to 2007 for everyone in the industry, but L&C has had a fantastic year overall which this award highlights. With just over 200 advisers, we are on track to place over £5.5 billion in mortgage applications in 2007, having experienced phenomenal growth in recent years.
As the largest broker in the UK, L&C continues to focus on its no-fee, whole of market proposition with customer value and service at the forefront. This approach is consistent across all our sectors - prime, sub-prime and buy to let. L&C has been selected by a number of major brands to provide their mortgage advice service, including Tesco, Guardian, Telegraph and Motley Fool. These partnerships are a testament to the quality of our mortgage advice and the high standards of our service.
One major development for us this year has been the launch of our transactional website, which by allowing customers to generate a compliant KFI before applying online, makes it unique in the UK broker market. We have further plans to expand into 2008 and beyond to meet the growing demand for our service. Despite forecasts for a smaller mortgage market in 2008, we are still expecting to grow our volumes and increase our market share."
