The new service is available for those clients who have a requirement for a simple Single or Mirror Will; for those who require a Will which is more complex, the broker is able to submit a referral to Blacks and a qualified Wills solicitor will take the client through the process.
The online system covers off all areas required in a Will including personal information, executors, funeral instructions, guardians, children, gifts and legacies, dealing with the residue of the estate including beneficiaries, and listing all assets.
David Gilman, partner in charge of Blacks Connect, said: “As an accepted part of the fact find brokers must ask their clients if they have a Will in place and this is clearly the perfect time to offer a Will-writing service for those who either have no arrangement or wish to draft a new one.
“We have designed our online service to be easy to use and self-explanatory meaning the broker is initially able to work out if the client requires a Single or Mirror Will by asking just six simple questions. If this is appropriate, the broker will then be able to work their way through the system and deliver a draft Will covering all required areas in as little as 15 minutes.
“We believe this could be an important income generator for broker firms and it could also help the many millions of people in the UK who do not have a Will in place.
“Even if the client’s needs are rather more involved brokers are still able to refer them on to Blacks and receive a referral fee in the process. Brokers now have an easily accessible online provider of Wills, plus other legal services and products, to ensure their clients have all their legal requirements taken care of.”
Blacks also offer brokers a range of other services for clients in this area including bespoke Wills, Power of Attorney, Trusts, and Probate and Estate Administration.
The Will-writing service complements a range of new legal products and services recently launched by Blacks Connect for both brokers themselves and their clients.
The new products available cover key areas such as commercial law, employment law, plus personal and corporate litigation.
