The lender is currently testing the system internally and hopes to roll it out in the near future.
PR manager at BM Solutions, Matt Grayson, explained: “Brokers will be informed of certain key milestones of the case, for example when valuation has been instructed. Even when out on the road they will still be in touch with what is going on, and will be able to pass information on to clients.”
Grayson went on to say that brokers would be able to opt in or out of the service and BM Solutions would seek to add extra services as and when mobile technology allowed.
Commenting on the new service Sally Laker, managing director of Mortgage Intelligence, said: “From a broker’s perspective it’s all about getting information as soon as possible so you can provide a good service to your client. Also it will mean less traffic at the lender’s call centre if information is given out automatically and immediately.”
Sean Hornsby, managing director of Mortgage 2000, said: “It is a good idea as long as the information is limited to the key stages, otherwise a busy broker would be inundated.”
