BM raises £80,000 for charity

Midlands-based businesses and names from across the financial services joined local dignitaries at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens for the BM Masquerade Ball.

The money raised is to be split between BM's local charity, the Deanesly Cancer Centre, based at Wolverhampton New Cross Hospital and the HBOS Foundation charity of the year, ICAN. David Dickinson, star of BBC's Bargain Hunt and I'm a Celebrity Get Me out of Here, hosted a special charity auction.

Pat Gavin, divisional manager, Deanesly Cancer Centre, said: "We are so grateful to every single person at BM. This money will make a massive difference to our patients. BM's employees should feel very proud that they have made such a difference."

Nigel Stockton, managing director, BM, added: "We were determined to raise as much money as possible for our nominated charities. But £80,000 exceeded even our expectations. The fact that our colleagues voted for the Deanesly Centre to be the BM charity of the year makes it all the more special."
