This reflects the fact that 98% of applications received from its intermediaries are now processed via the internet.
The bank’s E-service has been popular since launch and, in line with a move within the whole market towards the use of the internet, it is now the application format of choice in almost 100% of its cases. The decision to take applications completely online will enable Bank of Scotland to offer brokers speed and flexibility, without losing the focus on personal service and bespoke solutions for complex cases that it has long been committed to providing.
John Lloyd, Head of Sales at Bank of Scotland Mortgages, said: “In 2007 we are focusing on improving our online service to ensure that it continues to meet the needs of intermediaries. More and more applications are being processed online now, and in today’s technology and service driven market it makes sense to focus on this method of application – obviously combined with the personal service that we are known for. Our Premier Team will still be in place to offer individual case management and flexible underwriting to our brokers’ most valuable clients.
