This development follows on from the new website BWM launched in April this year. In addition to the improvements already delivered to customers in April, including a streamlined customer journey, new look and feel and up to date product calculators, customers can now also apply online for their mortgage.
Customers will be taken through a clearly explained seven stage application process, which comprises eligibility questions, disclosure document, registration, illustration, approval in principle, full application and case tracking. Customers can manage their case through a dedicated ‘my application’ screen, which highlights the stage they are at and how to move forwards.
The site has been designed to cater for all new mortgage customers, be they first-time buyers, movers or remortgagers. It offers different users the information, functionality and experience to meet their requirements - helping to make the complex world of mortgages easy to understand for customers, whatever their level of financial knowledge.
Alison Pallett, managing director of Bank of Ireland Personal Lending UK, said: “We are delighted to bring online applications to our direct Bristol & West Mortgages customers. This is an exciting development and a significant improvement to our already popular consumer proposition. This is yet another example of our commitment to improving the service we offer and to allow customers to choose how they get their mortgage products from us”.
