Until now Bristol & West Mortgages hasn’t been able to offer free legal fees on mortgages to any of their Scottish customers due to the complicated differences in Scottish law and the additional costs incurred. But the lender has worked to overcome these difficulties to offer their Scottish customers the same deals as their English and Welsh customers despite the added costs of £88 per customer.
Neena Kithoray, senior product manager for Bristol & West Mortgages, says: “We are really pleased that we can now offer all of our Scottish customers the same benefits that our English and Welsh customers have been benefiting from. The delay was due to the differences in Scottish law and costs to overcome this. However, our new systems have been designed to deal with these differences so we can now offer all of our Scottish customers any one of our excellent remortgage deals.”
