Tolfree has been with the specialist secured loan lender since 2008 and previously had stints with both GMAC-RFC and Motability.
Robert Owen, chief executive of Central trust, will take over Tolfree’s role in the interim.
In an email to introducers Owen said: “As a valued member of the team we are sad to see Buster leave and wish him well for the future.
“In the interim, I will be taking overall responsibility for the lending department supported by our experienced team headed in the office by underwriting manager, Lindsey McIver, and on the road by introducer development manager, Toby Wilson. So it’s very much business as usual.”
Central Trust said Tolfree had left the firm to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
