Baker joins from his most recent role as sales manager at John Charcol. He previously held sales manager roles at Andrews Estate Agents and Spicerhaart.
Baker will report directly to the joint venture board and will be tasked to build the new team of advisers to provide specialist financial advice to high net worth clients.
Capital Private Finance is an exclusive joint venture between Countrywide and Mortgage Advice Bureau due to launch in August. It will cater for the clients of Countrywide’s premium estate agency brands.
Peter Brodnicki, chief executive at Mortgage Advice Bureau, said: “We are delighted that Ian Baker will be joining Capital Private Finance.
“Ian brings with him a wealth of experience in the southern residential property sector and his expertise, paired with his management style, passion and enthusiasm for the role makes him an excellent fit for the business.”
Nigel Stockton, financial services director at Countrywide, added: “We said that we would be looking to attract the best private finance consultants in the industry to be a part of this exciting venture and we’re really pleased to have Ian onboard. It’s great to see how much talent there is in the market at the moment and with his experience and positive attitude, I’m sure Ian is going to do really well in this role.”
