Castle Trust Bank and ModaMortgages have strengthened their sales team with their respective recruitments of an account manager and a business development manager (BDM).

Castle Trust has appointed Nathan Thorne (pictured left) as regional account manager for the South West, bringing seven years of mortgage experience across various roles.

He began his career at broker firm CMME, then moved to OneSavings Bank as a lending assessor and later to Market Financial Solutions as a junior underwriter. Most recently, he served as a business development manager at KSEYE.

In his new role, Thorne will work proactively with broker firms in the south west, helping them understand Castle Trust Bank’s specialist bridging proposition and provide a dedicated contact for queries related to the lending process.

“We are delighted to welcome Nathan to the Castle Trust Bank team to help us grow our business in the south west region,” said Anna Lewis, commercial director at Castle Trust Bank. “With previous experience working at a broker firm and in underwriting functions under his belt, Nathan has a range of skills and expertise to help brokers identify and structure lending solutions to help their property investor clients get more from their portfolios.”

Meanwhile, ModaMortgages has appointed George Morgan (pictured right) as BDM for the Midlands, East Anglia, and South Yorkshire.

The soon-to-launch specialist buy-to-let lender is part of Chetwood Financial, a digital bank based in Wrexham.

Morgan brings extensive experience from previous roles at Create Finance and the Finance Advice Centre, where he also coached and trained brokers. He aims to bring a “fresh new approach” to managing broker relationships, leveraging his background in assisting brokers with limited company and self-employed clients.

“The experience I gained working as a mortgage advisor, including helping brokers with limited company and self-employed customers, will stand me in good stead, and I’m looking forward to being able to apply this knowledge to my new role,” Morgan said.

“I know a lot of the mortgage broker firms in the area and I love going to different places and meeting new people. My previous roles mean I can see things from both sides of the fence, so I’m excited to use this different perspective of things to bring a fresh new approach to my broker relationships.”
