David Wells has extensive experience of the overseas property market, having served as Chairman and Managing Director of Abbey National France from 1999-2004, the culmination of a 31-year career with Abbey, both in the UK and internationally.
As Chairman and Managing Director of Abbey National France, David Wells led the management team that transformed the French bank's profitability.
The appointment of David Wells heralds a new phase in the development of CFS, which has successfully established a leading position in the rapidlyevolving overseas mortgage market thanks to its commitment to customer service excellence and developing a team which provides independent advice on purchasing property abroad.
CFS now provide a mortgage service in more than 25 countries worldwide, including Eastern and Western Europe, Central and North America and the Caribbean, Canada, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
David will work closely alongside CFS's Managing Director Simon Conn, who founded the company ten years ago, and who now is viewed by many in the industry as the leading specialist in the overseas mortgage market.
`This is an exciting time in the history of CFS,' David Wells said. 'I have witnessed first hand the quality of service provision that CFS has enjoyed over a number of years, and have seen it grow to its leading position in the overseas mortgage marketplace, due to the commitment of Simon and his excellent team.
`My role will be to ensure that CFS build on this success by further cementing and developing partnerships with broker networks and intermediaries and to expand relationships with other specialist partners in a drive to ensure that overseas property buyers receive wholly
independent expert guidance right through the purchasing process.'
Simon Conn said: 'David's appointment marks a watershed for CFS, and the beginning of a prolonged spell of consolidation and development to further strengthen our position as the leading supplier of overseas mortgages.
`David's outstanding record of achievement in the overseas mortgage market makes him the perfect choice to help steer CFS to even greater success as the overseas property market develops.'
