Tonya Dornan, who previously worked in Northern Ireland for Abbey, will be dedicated to supporting intermediaries across the country. Intermediaries will deal directly with Tonya and, as C&G does not have a local branch in Northern Ireland, their applications will presently be processed at C&G’s branch in Glasgow.
Tonya’s appointment is part of a major drive to ensure that C&G sales managers are deployed where they are needed, rather than where the branches are based, as was previously the case. This drive – part of the sales force restructuring announced last year – means that intermediaries without a nearby branch will, for the first time, be able to deal directly with a C&G intermediary sales manager.
There will be no impact on intermediaries who have an existing relationship with their local C&G branch.
John Champion, C&G intermediary sales director, said: “Tonya is the ideal person to support NI’s intermediary community, having extensive experience of the industry and a background in relationship building through working with the Ulster Cancer Foundation.
“The IFA market is hugely important to us and we are keen to ensure that we meet the needs of intermediaries - both in areas where we are long established and also in those, like Northern Ireland, where we have had little or no presence until now.”
