CHL is helping to develop ‘the managers of the future’ by offering employees the opportunity to undertake the NSAFS Leadership and Management Programme which leads to an internationally-recognised management qualification from the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).
The programme is an ideal route for skills development for employees new to a supervisory or management role or aspiring to such a role, and is also suitable for more experienced staff that would benefit from more formal management training.
CHL is committed to developing its employees and with support from the NSAFS will ensure that its people are able to achieve the qualification. The lender will start the first leadership development group over the coming months.
Bob Young, managing director at CHL Mortgages, commented: “This partnership with the NSAFS is another sign of the commitment CHL has to its employees, their training needs and helping boost management skills within the business. We are hoping that a significant number of our staff will look to gain the qualification over the coming months. Through this scheme we are looking to train the managers of the future within CHL and see the Leadership and Management Programme as a perfect start to this process.
“Even in these trying economic times we do not underestimate the need for our staff to have a structured training and professional development path to follow. Developing the skills of our staff base is vitally important if we are to, not just hold onto our staff, but also ensure we meet the changing demands of the financial services industry. We are very much looking forward to working with the NSAFS and helping our staff fulfil their aims and ambitions with this qualification.”
Sylvia Perrins, CEO of the NSAFS, said: “I am delighted that CHL recognises the importance of management development and the benefits it will bring to their business. Developing the leaders of the future is vital for all organisations and the NSAFS leadership and management programme is an ideal way to equip people with the necessary knowledge and skills.”
