Results of October’s AFPC examination session show that in addition to the 254 AFPC completions, 65 completed the exam requirement for Associateship status with the Society of Financial Advisers and 11 completed the Fellowship requirement.
Following the merger between SOFA and the LIA to form the Personal Finance Society (PFS), those completing AFPC subjects, and who become members of the PFS, will be eligible to use the designations Dip PFS, APFS or FPFS according to the number of subjects passed.
CII qualifications development manager Paul Turner says, “The continued success of AFPC candidates shows a real desire by advisers to demonstrate levels of professional commitment above the regulatory minimum standard.”
The CII recently launched its newfinancialplanning examinations framework which will see the Financial Planning Certificate replaced by the Certificate in Financial Planning and new certificates for mortgage advice and lifetime mortgage activities.
